FESTIVAL VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITIES

OUTREACH AND PROMOTION (PRE-FESTIVAL)
Volunteers are needed to assist with publicity efforts, including but not limited to: email and social media marketing support and research; postering and brochure distribution at various businesses and public spaces; working CCMF information tables at community events; etc. We would also welcome volunteers with experience in publicity, marketing, advertising, and website design.
Physical demands for this role can vary depending on the task: standing, walking, moving marketing materials, interacting with businesses, or mostly sedentary at a desk.

CONCERT USHERS
Concert ushers are needed for assisting with events at several venues throughout the Festival period. Volunteers will tear or scan tickets, hand out programs, guide patrons to their reserved seats or alert them to open seats at a general admission event, help tidy up the House after the concert, and help enforce venue and Festival Front of House expectations so that all may have an enjoyable concert experience.
This role typically requires standing, walking, use of stairs, moving supplies, and greeting patrons.

SILENT AUCTION AND MAILING LIST TABLE ATTENDANTS
Silent Auction and Mailing List table volunteers are needed for assisting with events at several venues throughout the Festival period. Volunteers will assist attendees bidding on the silent auction and/or signing up for the Festival's mailing list.
This role typically requires standing or sitting at the table and greeting patrons.

WILL CALL ASSISTANTS
Will Call Volunteers assist at the Will Call table in the lobby at concerts, primarily at Old Cabell Hall. Volunteers give attendees their tickets that they have already purchased and direct those who would like to purchase tickets to the Box Office table.
This role typically requires standing or sitting at the table and greeting patrons.

PARKING LOT AND WAYFINDING VOLUNTEERS
Parking lot and wayfinding volunteers are needed for assisting with events at several venues throughout the Festival period, primarily the C-1 Lot near Old Cabell Hall and University Baptist Church lot for limited mobility patrons, and at Eastwood Farm and Winery. Volunteers will be responsible for directing patrons, many with mobility challenges, where to park (at Eastwood) and to the concert space.
These positions may work outdoors if assigned to the parking lot or inside along the way to the concert location, and they typically require standing, walking, use of stairs and greeting patrons.

RECEPTION VOLUNTEERS (21+)
Reception volunteers are needed to help with our Opening Night Post-Concert Donor Reception. All volunteers must be at least 21 years old. Volunteers will assist with reception set-up before the concert and during the second half of the concert as well as clean-up after the event. There may be other reception or donor event volunteer opportunities during the Festival and throughout the year, as well.
This role typically requires standing, walking, use of stairs, moving supplies, and greeting patrons.

STAGE DÉCOR TRANSPORT (21+)
Volunteers are needed to transport the sunflower stage and venue décor to the various venues throughout the Festival. All volunteers must be 21+ and have access to a larger reliable vehicle (SUV, Van, or station wagon).
This role requires driving a vehicle as well as transporting and carrying stage décor: primarily large urns and small vases with silk flowers.

PROVIDE BACKSTAGE SNACKS FOR MUSICIANS (21+)
Backstage hospitality volunteers are needed to take care of snacks and bottled water for the musicians on concert days throughout the Festival period. Volunteers will be responsible for purchasing and transporting pre-packaged snacks and water for musicians at concert venues throughout the Festival. Reimbursement for purchases is available with submitted receipts.
This role requires purchasing, transporting and moving refreshments to and from the concert venues, standing, walking, and use of stairs.

Other opportunities may also be available

All 2026 Festival volunteers are invited to attend the Volunteer Appreciation Reception after the final Festival concert at The Paramount Theater on September 19, 2026, and are eligible to attend that concert free of charge.

Those volunteering at the concerts are eligible to attend that event free of charge.
Ushers must sit in designated seating by the doors. All other concert volunteers will be given a reserved seat if at Old Cabell Hall, or sit in an open seat at General Admission venues.

Contact Natalie Hokanson at the Festival office if you are interested in volunteering for any of these roles: [email protected] or 434-295-5395.
