Where do I go to view the Virtual Festival videos?
Each day of our 2020 Virtual Festival, email subscribers will receive a link to that day’s video – just click on the link to view. You can join our mailing list HERE. If you’re looking for these videos on our website, click on “2020 Festival” and then click on the piece you’d like to explore. Note that these links don’t go live until the day each video is released.
What's included with each video performance?
We’ve arranged these video performances and related content into what we’re calling “digital bento boxes.” Each bento box includes a performance recorded just for our Festival, plus in-depth features like program notes, artist bios, and interviews. You can explore this content any time, even while listening to the performance.
When can I view the videos?
We'll release a new video each day at 10am, September 15-24. You can watch the videos any time you like and as many times as you like. Our 2020 Festival videos will be available until October 31.
How do I view the videos and related content once I'm on a bento box page?
To view the performance, simply click anywhere on the video that's at the top of your screen. The icon on the bottom right of the video allows you to view in full screen mode. The additional two or four boxes of related content can be viewed by clicking on the text (Notes & Stories, for example).
Some content will appear in a pop-up box on your screen. To close the pop-up, hit the "x" at the top right or click anywhere outside the pop-up box. Other content will open in a new tab. When you're done, just return to the bento box tab and continue exploring.
What is the "Audio & Insights" box?
Co-Artistic Director Timothy Summers has invented a new digital tool to help listeners visualize the harmonic structure of pieces, attaching a color scheme to audio clips. Learn more HERE.
