Aki Saulière, violin
A passion for chamber music has led violinist Aki Saulière to perform in major halls across Europe such as the Musikverein in Vienna, Concertgebouw in Amsterdam, Salle Pleyel and Cité de la Musique in Paris, and the Reina Sofia in Madrid. As a member of the Capuçon Quartet with Renaud and Gautier Capuçon, she frequently collaborated with Nicolas Angelich, Gérard Caussé, Frank Braley, Paul Meyer and Clemens Hagen and recorded for EMI. Since 2005, Ms. Saulière has been Artistic Director of La Loingtaine in Montigny-sur-Loing organizing concerts, masterclasses and academies throughout the year. She is a member of the Chamber Orchestra of Europe and Professor of Violin at the Conservatoire Royal de Bruxelles. |
Raphael Bell, cello
Cellist Raphael Bell is co-founder and co-artistic director, with violinist Timothy Summers, of the Charlottesville Chamber Music Festival. A graduate of The Juilliard School, he was a member of the Mahler Chamber Orchestra for many years before becoming principal cello of the Antwerp Symphony Orchestra in Belgium in 2010. Bell has collaborated with musicians such as Steven Isserlis, James Ehnes, and Martha Argerich; and ensembles such as Brooklyn Rider, Dante, and Orpheus. He is a regular participant in chamber festivals including Seattle Chamber Music, Ferrara Musica, Elba Festival, Ravinia, La Loingtaine, Verbier and Resonance Festival Belgium, and was part of the Prussia Cove tour that won the 2008 Chamber Music Award from the Royal Philharmonic Society in London. |
Mimi Solomon, piano
Pianist Mimi Solomon enjoys a multi-faceted career as a chamber musician, soloist, and teacher. She has appeared as a soloist with orchestras including Shanghai Symphony, Philharmonia Virtuosi, and Yale Symphony Orchestra, and has been featured on radio and television broadcasts including the McGraw-Hill Young Artist’s Showcase, France 3, France Inter, and National Public Radio. She regularly appears at music festivals such as Santander, IMS Prussia Cove, Lockenhaus, Kinhaven, Rencontres de Bel-Air, Ravinia, Taos, Norfolk, Yellow Barn, Charlottesville, La Loingtaine, and Aspen. Mimi has taught at Cornell University, East Carolina University, and Ithaca College. She is currently on the faculty of the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and Kinhaven. She also serves as co-artistic director of MYCO, a pre-college chamber music program in Chapel Hill. |
