The 24th Annual
Charlottesville Chamber Music Festival
September 7-17, 2023
Let our world-class artists amaze you with their passion and virtuosity!
Welcome to the 2023 Festival
A word from Co-Artistic Director Raphael Bell about this year's festival Tim and I are tremendously excited about the upcoming Festival and presenting concerts in the beautiful settings of The Paramount Theater, Old Cabell Hall, Second Street Gallery, and Christ Episcopal Church and King Family Vineyards. We hope you decide to attend them all!
Our musicians' roster this year is a dream: extraordinary pianists, fantastic string players, superb wind players, and a renowned harpsichordist. They bring with them possibilities of repertoire that should delight fans of Romantic ensemble music, Baroque concertos, and much music in between and up to the moment.
We are especially excited to venture into new territory this year with our Grand Finale concert on September 17th, presented by The Paramount Theater. In a first for the Festival, four of our soloists are teaming up with the Virginia Symphony Orchestra (VSO) to perform a symphonic program that includes Beethoven's Triple Concerto and the beloved Symphony No. 7 in A Major. Conducting is our old friend and many times Festival alum Eric Jacobsen, Artistic Director of The Knights, and now Music Director of the VSO.
