2016 Festival Overview
The Virginia Chamber Music Foundation Announces the 17th Season of the Charlottesville Chamber Music Festival
Beginning on Thursday September 8th and concluding Thursday September 22nd, the Charlottesville Chamber Music Festival will continue its tradition of presenting a wide variety of chamber music styles and instrumentations performed by world-renowned musicians. The Festival will include five principal concerts, on Thursday evenings and Sunday afternoons, and several special concerts and educational events, including a free public concert at The Paramount Theater at mid-day on Friday, September 9th. Returning participants will include Scottish pianist Alasdair Beatson, Spanish flutist Julia Gallego, Belgian trumpeter Jeroen Berwaerts, and Finnish soprano Virpi Raisanen, and from the U.S, violinist Jennifer Frautschi, violist Melissa Reardon, cellist Raman Ramakrishnan, percussionist Matthew Gold, and more. We are now finalizing plans for the concert series and special programs and we invite you to return to our website early in May for further information!
